Listening Course #12

Listening course this time, we are working on basic questions related to the TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language). scholarship program or private track. Even though the questions given by the doser were still the basic part of the TOEFL questions, I was still unfamiliar with the questions so I had a little trouble working on the questions. there are even some questions that I repeat several times so that I can continue with the next session.

In the quiz questions given there are 3 short strategic dialogues. every short dialogues strategies there are 3 strategies provided. For the first short dialogues strategies, there are 3 strategies, namely Focus on the last line, Choose answer with synonyms, and Avoid similar sounds. short strategic dialogues next draw conclusions about who, what and where, listen for who and what in passive, and listen for what with multiple nouns. The last short dialogues strategies are Listen for negative expressions. I have difficulty in the third / last short dialogues strategies. I have to repeat the audio several times in order to know the meaning of the problem.

Hi! At this interpretive reading course meeting, we streamlined the MID Project - Making your Interpretative Readings Come Alive. Where we reviewed two books that we had previously listed in the Whatsapp group. The books I reviewed are The Things You Can See Only When You Slow Down by Haemin Sunim and Say What You Mean: A Mindful Approach to Nonviolent Communication by Oren Jay Sofer. Listening Course #4

Hi!! At this listening course meeting, we did not have a meeting. This is because last Thursday, to be precise March 11, 2021, was the Isra Mi'raj holiday. So we just filled out the absences according to the schedule and then did the assignments in Syam-ok. The task is also almost the same as the previous tasks, namely listening to the audio and then working on the available quizzes. On this blog, I am not only discussing listening lessons but also about my activities until I upload this blog. The next day because I didn't have a class schedule, and it happened to be a weekend, my friend invited me to go out for a walk. Hi! At this meeting, we learned about Preview & predicting material. This is an important skill for a good reader. Preview occurs when we gather information about a book by examining the cover of the book. The purpose of this preview is to help us in predicting the contents of the book. In addition, previewing and predicting can make quite a significant difference. We can get an idea of what we are going to read, so we can process the information quickly. In this learning material, we are also directed to search for a book and then find out the contents of the book from its cover, and look for information about the title, author, and other important information. We also create podcasts with our podcast material derived from information from the books we read. We are also doing some exercises in Syam-ok on this material.
